I own two of them, both fired sparingly, and I suspect their value to be around $1150. It really depends upon the buyer and is desire to aquire one. I paid $175 for one of them in 1975 and I can't remember what the other cost. ************ ************** ************ AS OF 2011: These thing s have skyrocketed in price mostly because of the 'Assault Weapon' bans and hysteria. Currently, these are offered for $1299-1599 range online (and they're selling well in the 'Free States' that allow their sale and possession by their free citizens) The H-BAR version (Serial number preceded by a 'CH' for 'Competition' or 'MH' for 'Match' versions) are more desirable and command more money than the 'SP' or 'Sporter' versions. Either rifle is a fun.223 shooter and can be the basis for many conversions and modifications as well as used for competition sports shooting.
Colt SP1 Serial Number Search. I need some help with a serial number search for a Colt SP1 it is a 16'Carbine, collapsible stock. I have tried my own research but my rifle seems to have an extra digit in the number. SP135XXX' I am unsure if the 1 is suppose to indicate it is 'SP1' and the serial number is 35XXX.
A) If you have a good interface,led will become green and you are OK,if not then you did not then you did not wire it up ok, check connections. Vcds usbasp pinout. Mine is in mint condition just like the rest of my inventory and LIKE the rest of my inventory.has killed one less person than Ted Kennedys car! I bought an SP1 carbine when stationed at Camp pendleton in the early '80s. I recently sold it to a work buddy for (what seems to be ) way more than they're going for. Win some,lose some!! Anyway, I'm also a member on Thehighroad.org,which seems to be THE firearms-related forum on the internet, and one of the moderators there told me my rifle was dated mid-70's ( according to the serial number I gave him) but the gun-savvy freind I sold it to, also looked it up, and said it was manufactured in the early 80's, just before I purchased it.
The point is, I'm confident both my freind and the THR moderator knew what they were talking about, and it's the information available that is suspect.
